06/10/14

A new section has been added with pictures of the Memorial Garden dedicated to Paul Metcalfe. This can be found in the Photographs section.
A few photographs have been added to the Group Photographs Section including one with presentation of the new appliances (G103/4RBA).
Also thanks to the Ramsbottom Heritage Society for providing some very much needed dates on photographs.

War Weapons Week – (April 26th – May 3rd 1941) – Pictures have been found and added showing auxiliary firemen attending the event and providing demonstrations.
Press section – 2x more press cuttings have been added showing 2 firemen receiving the 21 year award.
40th Anniversary – 2x more group pictures added showing retried firemen gathered back at Ramsbottom.
OVU853R – another picture of this Ford HCB Angus has been added pictured at Farnworth Fire Station
Group photos – More group photographs have been added.
Horse Drawn – 2x photographs of Ramsbottoms fire appliances (Horse Drawn Steamers) can be found.26/09/14

A big thanks to Peter Bradley, Alyson and Steve Sutcliffe for providing names to faces on some of the photographs in the group photographs.
A big thank you to Ian Chapman for his continued information and photographs of his dad Jim Chapman, Uncles Robert Chapman and Warren Allen. These will be uploaded in due course.

A 40th Anniversary page has been created to show photographs of the event including many a reunions.
A Helen Aspinall Life Raft page has been created to show the very interesting raft that was made by the firefighters of Ramsbottom to cross the channel!

TTB101M page has been created and photograph added.
Some press cuttings have been added to show when Ramsbottom fire station and firemen have been in the news papers.
A 1965 Drill has been created to show photographs taken during a drilling session at Ramsbottom including the use of a wheeled escape.

I am still working my way through the huge collection that Mark Beswick has kindly sent to me.
A photographs section page has been created to list all the different sub pages that contain photographs.
A group page has been created to show all the firemen over the years when they have posed for the camera.
A press page has been created due the amount of press cuttings that I have been given.
A Fire/Callouts/Shouts page has been created to show some of the incidents that Ramsbottom have attended.
Also a massive thanks to Bob Bonner from the GMFRS Museum for giving me list of appliances that have served in Ramsbottom including some surprises. This has now confirmed that first generation dodges NBU715/6W and second generation dodges A652/3OJA served at ramsbottom.

Stubbins Lane Fire Station Page has been updated with some more detailed information included from the official opening program.
Council Yard Fire Station Page has been updated with some more detailed information included from the official opening program.
A page has also been created for the Bedford KEL KTE917F accessed from the previous appliances page.

A massive thank you goes out to a former Station Officer of Ramsbottom Mark Beswick who has kindly sent me a massive collection of photos and has also confirmed some question marks. This collection will start to appear over the next couple of days.
G104RBA has had a new photo added and has confirmed which one of the two dodges have square beacons.
Stubbins Lane/Stubbins Lane Photos pages have been updated with new and some clearer pictures to replace previous. This has also included an 1960s Aerial Photograph from the Lancashire Open Mario website.
Council Yard page has been updated with information, new unseen photographs including a group photo and also confirmed the position of the station due to receiving two photos in the past that we both different in reflection. This has also included an 1960s Aerial Photograph from the Lancashire Open Mario website.

A page on the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS) has been created with information and some pictures of a group of AFS appliances leaving Ramsbottom Station.

A big thanks goes to David A.Ingham for allowing me to use some of his pictures of S301/2 RVM.
S301RVM page has been updated with another picture showing the appliance in Bury.
S302RVM page has been updated with another two pictures showing the appliance leaving Ramsbottom Town Centre and also on the run as a reserve appliance at S16 Manchester Central.
